FYF Festival
FYF is possibly my favorite festival, mainly due to the fact is it still small (40,000 people vs. 100,000 at Coachella). We went VIP this year, because its less than $100 more than GA and you get your own beer/food garden plus front of the stage access to the main stage.
Anyways, here is the breakdown day by day:
Saturday
Saturday had so much going on, but the imperatives on my list were:
Jagwar Ma
Because of the lines, we barely got in to see two songs, but this group is incredible.
Tame Impala
Plenty of time to catch this from VIP area. My buddy who has seen Tame Impala many times says this was the best performance yet.
Afterwards, we wandered around and founds ourselves in a tent with Moby DJing. Such fun times
Sunday
Amazingly not done yet. The excitement today was about getting to LCD Soundsystem's closing set. In the meantime however, we wandered around and saw these acts:
Blood Orange
Lines to get in were long again, was afraid we'd missed this
Father John Misty
Incredible voice all around.
Wandering
We actually left the little enclave of Main, Lawn Stages to try and catch Beach House. Scenes along the journey:
Beach House
Only stayed for a partial set. LCD started midway through.
LCD Soundsystem
The main event. James Murphy said we screwed up if we missed Grace Jones. Dooohh!
